Obituary for Carol Dawn Puckett
Mother of Leichia Davis, Funeral Director and Co-Owner of Roger W. Davis Funeral Home
Carol Dawn "Granny" Puckett, 80 of West Portsmouth, died Monday, March 4, 2024, at SOMC Hospice. She was born May 19, 1943, in Portsmouth to the late David and Ruth Hobbs Wear. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Elizabeth Smith and Dorothy May O’Dell, a daughter in law; Sherry Vernier, and a grandson, Aiden Vernier.
Carol was a jack of all trades but took most pride in running Lazy Village Campground where she was infamously known as “Granny” to everyone. She never met a stranger and loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Harold Puckett and sons, Paul Roger Vernier Jr., David Larry Vernier, 2 daughters, Leichia Dawn Davis, and Kelsi Ann Dawn (Adam) Bricker, her grandchildren, Paul Roger (Tiffany) Vernier III, Ryan Vernier, Denver (JT Keyes) Davis, Kolton (Miranda) Vernier, Michael (Natalie Gardner) Davis, Dawson Vernier, Tanner (Heather)Vernier, Nickolas Davis (Sara Bender), Aiden Vernier, Jace Vernier, David Larry Vernier Jr., Ellie Dawn and Kannon Bricker. Her great-grandchildren, Gracie, Brayden, Sophie ,Bryson, Delilah Vernier, and Lilah Dawn Davis, 3 step-children, Wesley Puckett, Gregory (Val) Puckett, April Dublo, a brother David (Cathy) Wear, three special friends whom she loved very much, Mary Pratt, Patty Frye, and Carla Farley and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 1:00PM Thursday March 7, 2024, at the Roger W Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pete Shaffer and Vicki Bays officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Visitation will begin at 11AM and continue until the start of the funeral service. The family would like to thank SOMC Hospice for the amazing staff and the comfort they provided.
