Obituary for Norayne L. McCreery

Funeral Director and Owner of Nosek-McCreery Funeral Home

NORAYNE "Raynie" L. McCREERY (nee Nosek), age 77. Beloved wife of Dennis C. McCreery for 52 years. Loving mother of Doug (Heather) and Scott (Katy). Cherished grandmother of Brady, Liana, Brinley and Daniel. Dear sister of Karen Gerber (Paul, deceased) and sister-in-law of Karin Redner (Bob), Kathy Carey (Tony), and Debbie Habegger (Dean). Daughter of the late Norman and Jayne Nosek. Dearest aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Norayne graduated from Brecksville High School in 1964 and the University of Kentucky in 1968 with a bachelor's degree in education. After graduation, she served her funeral director's apprenticeship and was licensed in 1969. As a fourth-generation funeral director and owner of Nosek-McCreery Funeral Home, she provided over 50 years of dedicated service to the community.

Raynie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who would drop anything at a moment's notice to be there for her family. She loved all of nature's animals, both wild and domestic. She grew up boating on Lake Erie, a passion she shared with her family. She loved horses, a passion her husband and boys did NOT share with her after years of mucking stalls. She enjoyed volunteering with Centaur, a program to assist special needs adults and children through horseback riding. She was the quintessential hostess. Every holiday, birthday, or general gathering was filled with an abundance of food, friends, and maybe a glass or two of cheer.

Family and Friends will be received at NOSEK-McCREERY FUNERAL HOME, 8150 BRECKSVILLE RD., BRECKSVILLE, OH 44141 on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 1:00-6:00 p.m. Raynie's Funeral Service will be held at the FUNERAL HOME, Monday, February 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Brecksville Cemetery.
