Funeral Director/Embalmer or Apprentice Funeral Director/Embalmer

Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory - Van Wert, Convoy & Rockford, OH

Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, a locally owned, family oriented Funeral Home and Crematory, is looking to add a motivated, Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer to our staff. We have locations in Van Wert, Convoy and Rockford, Ohio as well as our own crematory. Experience is preferred but not required. Apprentices are welcome to apply. Responsibilities:

  • Arrange and direct all activities relating to transfers, funerals, visitations, and cremation services including preparation of funeral home facilities and equipment, embalming and preparation of deceased, crematory operations, and on-call responsibilities
  • Ensure vehicles, buildings, facilities, and grounds are maintained in a clean, manicured, and working order
  • Strive for market share growth through active community involvement
  • Foster strong relationships with vendors and suppliers

Education & Experience:

  • Ohio Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer or ability to obtain a reciprocal license in a timely manner
  • Must meet and maintain all education and licensing requirements as prescribed by the Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors
