Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer

Hill Funeral Home in Westerville Ohio is looking for an Ohio Licensed or apprentice Funeral
Director/Embalmer. We are a 3rd generation family owner/operated single location committed to
providing excellence in a funeral or celebration of life experience for the families we serve. This is a
great opportunity for a candidate with a passion for serving a local community and yet be located where

education, family living and more. The qualified candidate should be able to work independently, have a
driver’s license and clean driving record, and pass a background check. Year after year we continue to
grow as more families continue to trust our team and the extraordinary service we provide.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting arrangement meetings with families
  • Working Visitation
  • Direction of vehicle parking
  • Embalming and preparation of the deceased
    Daytime removals
  • No night removals. Weekend duties and overnight phone on call shifts are rotated
  • Directing funerals and cremation/celebration of life services.
  • Preparing related funeral paperwork and memorial stationery
  • Day to day upkeep of location includes: Vehicle cleaning, light landscaping, general cleaning,
    clearing entryways of snow, etc. Sometimes being outside during the height of hot and cold
    seasons are part of the day to day duties.

Insurance license a plus but not required.

Salary Range – Competitive Licensed/Apprentice Embalmer/Funeral Director; Negotiable pending experience.

Job Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License, Clean driving record
  • Professional dress
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be able to lift 50-200 pounds with equipment as provided. Utilize assistance and provided equipment for weight over 200 pounds.

Compensation includes: negotiated competitive salary based on experience, paid time off for continuing
education, paid vacation (after 90 days), healthcare allowance, company matched IRA, paid state board
exam fees, tuition assistance. Civic/fraternal memberships and community relationships are
encouraged. All dues, license fees and many expenses are paid by the company with approval (and after
