Jack Adams is a licensed Funeral Service Practitioner for 51 Years.The Dodge Company, Sales Representative in Illinois, 1989-present. Tommy Bowden, started two years as a wide receiver at West Virginia University. After spending several years as an assistant football coach at Florida State, Duke, Alabama, Kentucky, and Auburn Universities, Tommy Bowden became the head coach at Tulane University in 1997. In just his second season with Tulane, he led his team to an undefeated season, a Conference USA Championship and a win in the Liberty Bowl. Tommy was also named Conference USA Coach of the year. In 1999, Tommy took the head coaching position at Clemson University. In that first season, the Tigers set or tied 41 school records, including 26 on offense. He was named Conference Coach of the Year in 1998, and ACC Coach of the year in both 1999 and 2003. In 2006, Tommy received the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Coach of the Year Award. Over the last four games of the 2003 season, Bowden defeated two coaches that had already earned 200 career wins – to become the first coach in NCAA history to accomplish the feat in just a month’s time. (Those coaches were his father, the legendary Bobby Bowden, and Lou Holtz). Throughout his tenure at Clemson University, his teams were not only among the elite in the nation on the field, but also in the classroom. Nearly 80% of all seniors earned their degrees during Tommy’s 10-year career at Clemson. In 2005, Clemson’s 94% graduation success rate was fourth-best of all 119 Division IA football programs. Each of the top-eight semester team Grade Point Averages in Clemson history, were recorded under Bowden. Since retiring from Clemson in 2008, Tommy Bowden has become one of the nation’s most sought after motivational speakers. He appeared frequently as an expert college football analyst on ESPN television and radio and currently is the co-host of two football television shows, one with FOX Sports and one with the ACC Football Network.
Wayne Campbell is the president and founder of Tyler’s Light, a grassroots non-profit organization bringing awareness to communities across the Midwest about the dangers of prescription and illegal drug use. Wayne has pioneered the effort to reach students and communities through cutting-edge presentations. He has, of this date, spoken to over 130,000 students at 200 schools in 10 states. The organization was named after Wayne’s son, Tyler, who tragically died of an accidental heroin overdose in July 2011 after a fight with addiction to prescription pain medication. Tyler's Light has made great strides toward encouraging people to “Speak Up, Save a Life”. In addition, they have reached thousands of people online with its powerful “Speak Up, Save a Life” videos. Jeffrey Chancellor, CFSP serves as Director of Education, Training and Research for H S Eckels & Company. Jeff began his funeral service career in the pre-need in 1986. He graduated first in his class from the Alberta School of Mortuary Science in 1989. He is a qualified embalmer, funeral director, crematory operator and funeral celebrant. Jeff’s funeral service experience is varied and includes managing a large volume funeral center, as a demonstrator and lecturer for the Dodge Company, as an instructor at the Center for Funeral Service Education at Mount Royal College, as a Director and International Response Team member with Blake Emergency Services, and as an educational consultant; lecturing, training and working on projects in eighteen (18) countries. Jeff’s articles have been published in the American Funeral Director, Connecting Directors, The Director, The Compass, The Australian Funeral Director, The Canadian Funeral News, The Canadian Funeral Director, the Dodge Magazine, Funeral Care Magazine New Zealand, and the Mortuary Science Monitor.
Kevin Gaffney has been in the Funeral and Cemetery industry for the past 20 years. Ten of these years were spent with The Forethought Group in several different positions and areas of the country. He has consulted with funeral homes and cemeteries From Washington D. C. to San Francisco. In 2000 he received the Daniel A. Hillenbrand Award as representative of the year. He also helped Forethought roll out their Cemetery offering across the entire U.S. in 2002 and 2003. In May of 2003 he joined the Spring Grove Cemetery & Arboretum as Director of Sales and Marketing. In June of 2007 he joined Funeral Director’s Life as Director of Sales Development with responsibilities in Ohio, Kentucky and a variety of development projects, and in 2010 became a Regional Sales Vice President for the eastern U.S. He is actively involved in the International Cemetery and Funeral Association as a member of the Sales and Marketing Committee and has been a speaker at National and State level funeral industry events.
Duane Hedrick has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1994. He is a 1993 graduate of The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He started his career in funeral service in 1987, at Harter and Son Funeral Home in his hometown of Delphos, OH, he then joined Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes in Lima, Ohio from 1995 to 2010. In September of 2010, Duane joined The Dodge Company as a sales representative for the western half of Ohio. In addition to working with Dodge, Duane is a Board of Trustees member at CCMS and a team member with OMORT.
Ernie Heffner has a diverse background in the operation of end-of-life care related enterprises including funeral homes, cemeteries, a monument company, 10 funeral business relocations and 5 new replacement facility constructions. As of this date and net of the sale of 5 locations in August 2013 plus one business in 2015 all to a longtime associate, the company now operates six funeral homes, one with an onsite crematory. Heffner graduated March 1974 from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science [PIMS], Pittsburgh, PA after attending York College, York, PA. He lectures annually at his alma mater. Heffner served his internship in the family business and became a Pennsylvania licensed funeral director in 1975 at which time the family operated three locations in York County, PA, serving 130 families per year. A licensed FD since 1975, Heffner serves as president of the family business. He is an ICCFA [International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association] Certified Funeral Executive [CFuE] and is the founding Dean of the ICCFA University College of Cremation Services at the University of Memphis, a program he established in 2003 and of which he served as Dean through 2007.
C. Jeff Lee was born in Chillicothe, Ohio in June 1965; graduated Chillicothe High School in 1983; graduated The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and minor in Biology in 1987; worked one year as a unit clerk in a medium sized emergency room; graduated from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1992; completed a one year rotating Osteopathic Internship at Flint Osteopathic Hospital in Flint, Michigan in 1993; completed a 4 year hospital Pathology Residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan; completed a one year Forensic Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina; worked two years at Assistant Chief Medical Examiner at the Central District of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond, Virginia; went to the newly established Licking County Coroner’s Office in Newark, Ohio in July 2000.
Lauren LeRoy is a licensed funeral director in New York State. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Lauren graduated Cum Laude in 2010 with her AOS in Funeral Services from the New England Institute at Mount Ida College. In 2012 she started blogging under her pseudonym Little Miss Funeral. She has written for and been featured with numerous funeral publications including funeralOne, ASD and most recently, the BBC.
Caroline McGill, is a young, Southern gal who lives in Charleston, SC and works as a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Stuhr's is one of the oldest and largest funeral homes in the state, serving Lowcountry families since 1865. Caroline was born and raised in Fort Mill, SC, and is a first generation funeral professional. She is a 2012 graduate of Presbyterian College. She writes about death, grief and funerals for "Southern Calls" magazine and on her blog at www.carolinemcgill.com
Christopher Meyer is the Managing Partner of Reese, Pyle, Drake & Meyer, a 14 attorney general practice law firm in Newark, Ohio, where he has practiced law since his admission to the Ohio bar in 1977. He graduated from The Ohio State University with his B.A. summa cum laude in 1974, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, and he earned his law degree at The Moritz College of Law at Ohio State in 1977. He has been AV® Preeminent™ peer-review rated (highest rating) by LexisNexis Martindale Hubbell for the past twenty-five years (since 1991).
He represents the local hospital, as well as individuals, businesses and non-profit corporations on a large variety of legal matters, He also has an active practice in area of Estate Planning and is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He holds the current appointment as Outside Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General for Central Ohio Technical College and is on the Board of Trustees of The Ohio State University Newark and the Board of Directors at First Federal Savings & Loan of Newark.
Bill Pahl started his career in the financial services industry in 1987 and joined The 770 Group in 1989. He serves as a relationship manager with primarily high net worth clients, and works jointly with Richard DuBow on many relationships. Bill graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in economics. Bill and his wife, Nancy, have two children, William and Kathleen. He enjoys spending time with family, friends and clients at his farm in Greene County, where his hobbies include farming, hunting and fishing. He enjoys the outdoors and actively encourages and promotes good stewardship pertaining to land and wildlife.
Lacy Robinson, CFSP, is director of development at NFDA. She is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. She has 10 years experience as director of professional development at Aurora Casket Company. Prior to joining Aurora, she was a funeral director/embalmer at Johnson's Funeral Home in Georgetown, Kentucky.
Lacy has a bachelor's degree in communications from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky, and an associate's degree in funeral service from Mid-America College of Funeral Service in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She holds many certifications such as the Certified Funeral Service Practitioner and Certified Funeral Celebrant. As a member of the Bluegrass Toastmasters Group, Robinson has achieved the designation Competent Communicator. She serves on the Board of Trustees for the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice and is vice-chairman of the Mid-America College of Funeral Service Advisory Board.
Frank Rosenacker is a fourth-generation funeral director/embalmer and serves as the Secretary of his family funeral home. He is also a practicing attorney specializing in all areas of estate planning, probate, and corporate-business matters. He owns and operates Rosenacker and Associates, an international consulting firm dealing with funeral directors and funeral homes offering a wide range of services including legal representation. He is currently Chairman of the Board at CCMS.
Mr. Rosenacker has lectured extensively on the national, state and local levels. His topics include legal issues, succession planning, business plans and policy manuals, business appraisals and evaluations, sales of funeral businesses, regulatory laws, taxes, and cooperative efforts

Pam Ulery graduated from Ohio University in 1988 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. She has an Ohio Life Insurance License. Pam has been in the funeral industry over 20 years starting with Forethought in 1991. She decided to work at a funeral home as a prearrangement specialist after a decade in business to business sales. Then she pursued a 6 year career with Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals, now Merck, prior to starting with FDL in 2010. Pam lives in Cincinnati with her husband Dave and 3 children. Her job description is a Director of Sales Development with FDL.
Paul vonSchoeler graduated with a BA in Political Science, University of Arizona 1966. Post Graduate Degree, Thunderbird School of Global Management 1968. President/CEO Administrative Systems, Inc. ASI has over 25 years of experience providing record keeping services to preneed master trusts. Presently, ASI provides record keeping services to the Ohio Funeral Directors Association Master Trust, the West Virginia Funeral Directors Association Master Trust, the Alabama Funeral Directors Master Trust, the Mississippi Funeral Directors Master Trust, the Independent Funeral Directors of Florida Master Trust and a preneed master trust sponsored by TD Bank in Massachusetts.
Erin Whitaker as a third generation funeral director, Erin brings a diverse and comprehensive background to her role at Foundation Partners Group. She is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in North and South Carolina, and has served as a business and management consultant working with funeral homes and cemeteries nationwide. Erin joined FPG in 2015 as the Sr. Director of Operations Integration, and worked to establish processes and frameworks to significantly enhance Operations productivity and successfully onboard and integrate new acquisitions. In her current role, Erin works alongside the Business Development team to continue the company’s growth.
