Evelyn I. Chute, 96 of Somerset, OH passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026 at her residence. She was born February 6, 1930 in Crooksville, OH to Frank K. and Genevieve (Russell) Williams.
Evelyn was employed in the office staff for many years at Lempco Manufacturing. She was active in the New Lexington Order of Eastern Star, Carnation Chapter # 167 and in recent years Thornville Chapter #156 OES. She enjoyed her time as the leader of Rainbow Girls. She was a member of New Lexington First United Methodist Church, Carey Mayer UMWC and recently Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children; Robert “Bob” Chute, Jerry Chute, David (Susanna) Chute, S. Douglas (Tammie) Chute, Virgil (Beth) Chute; seven grandchildren, Arren (Danny) McDonald, Bradley (Meghann) Chute, Byron (Sherry) Chute, Carrie (Alex) Torr, Christopher (Suzanne) Chute, Elizabeth (Lee) Jenkins, Caleb (Stephanie) Chute; sixteen great-grandchildren, Alex McDonald, Andrew McDonald, Christopher “Critter” (Peyton) McDonald, Will Chute, Cecilia Chute, Calvin Chute, Isaiah Chute, Mallory Chute, Curran Torr, Henry Torr, Meghan (Branden) Flores, Matthew Chute, Nathaniel Chute, Camryn Chute, Aiden Chute, Bryleigh Chute; great-great-grandson; Beau McDonald; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings; Virgil (Virginia) Williams, Laberta (Paul) Swinehart, Bonnie (Don) Studer, Ronald “Whitey” (Sally) Williams and Darlene Bookman.
Visitation will be observed Friday, August 28, 2026 from 12 Noon to 2:00 p.m. at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark. A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m, at the conclusion a gathering of fellowship and food with family and friends will be provided in the Family Center at the funeral home.
Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning at New Lexington Cemetery.
