Wilma Ann (Echard) Boyer, 83, of Waverly, Ohio, passed 10:35 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio surrounded by her family.
Wilma was born August 5, 1938 in Waverly, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ray Francis Echard and Grayce (Holt) Echard. On June 28, 1958, she was united in marriage to David A. Boyer, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Gregory D. Boyer and wife Kristen, daughter, Lynne M. Morgan, five grandchildren, Kelly Wheeler and husband Ross, Derek Boyer and wife Courtney, Danielle Boggs and husband Clint, Landon Boyer and Hailey Boyer and fiancé Zachary Beitzel, four great-grandchildren, Lincoln Boyer, Rosalind Wheeler, Hudson Boyer and Grant Boggs, sister-in-law, Sharon Echard and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Ray Richard Echard, William Edward Echard and Floyd Preston Echard and five sisters, Grace Edith Wik, Emma Lucetta Snavely, Mildred Louise Thrush, Norma Jean Rapp and Bonnie Lou Echard.
Wilma was a member of New Covenant CCCU of Waverly, where she was third Elder and treasurer for 25 years and organist for more than 47 years. She was a member and past Matron of Waverly Chapter #99 O.E.S. Waverly. Wilma was hired in late 1958 to become the first x-ray technician for the new Pike County Hospital and also served as a lab technician. She retired as co-owner of Boyer Funeral Home Inc. and was an avid Buckeye fan having attended all home and away games for more than 25 years.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022 at New Covenant CCCU, Waverly, Ohio with Rev. Lonnie Potts, Rev. Greg Leeth and Rev. Charles Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Bridge Street, Waverly, Ohio.
Family will receive friends 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, Ohio with an Eastern Star service at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
