Summary:

This is the third installment in a four-part continuing education series, From First Call to Final Order: A Practical Compliance Series on Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors Enforcement, focused on regulatory enforcement by the Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors (OBEFD).

Following Parts One and Two, this webinar examines how regulatory issues can escalate into public crises when a funeral service incident reaches traditional or social media. The session explores how to effectively manage reputational risk while a regulatory matter is active or pending.

Attendees will learn how incidents evolve into news and viral content, how to respond to print and broadcast media inquiries, and how to navigate heightened social media exposure during an investigation. The program also addresses coordinating legal, regulatory, and public messaging to minimize risk.

Participants will gain practical strategies for responding under public scrutiny, avoiding common missteps that can intensify regulatory exposure, and aligning crisis communications with ongoing board matters.
