Webinar Cancelled: Death Management in OVRS

Notification: Upcoming Webinar Cancellation/Postponement

The Ohio Funeral Directors Association regrets to inform you that the upcoming webinar, "Death Management in OVRS," has been canceled/postponed due to recent updates from the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Bureau of Vital Statistics.

ODH has announced that the “go-live” date for Ohio's new Ohio Vital Records System (OVRS), initially scheduled for January 1, 2025, has been postponed due to low user enrollment and unresolved technical issues. The OVRS will replace the current electronic systems used to record births and deaths (IPHIS/EDRS), unifying them into a single platform.

Revised implementation dates for OVRS are as follows:

The OVRS will be utilized by funeral homes, coroners/medical examiners, birth facilities, physicians completing death certificates, and local health departments.
