Cancellation Policy:
If an individual needs to cancel:
- 45 days before training, 100% refund
- 30 days before training, 75% refund
- 15 days before training, no refund
Cancellation of the event may occur if we do not reach the minimum number of registrants required. Full registration refund will be issued should this type of cancellation occur. However, OFDA is not liable for transportation costs that might of been incurred.
What is Celebrant Training and who is it for?
Celebrant Training is an intensive 3-day certification, training people how to provide unique and personalized funeral for families, specializing in those families who do not wish to have a traditional or religious based funeral.
Anyone who is interested in becoming a writer, creator and officiant at funeral services. Funeral professionals, clergy/chaplains, bereavement specialists, nurses, teachers, actors, business people all have become Certified Celebrants.
CE Information for Funeral Directors:
- 17 CE, General, approved with the State of Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors.
- Note: InSight Institute is approved for funeral service continuing education credit with the APFSP.

What to Bring:
A notebook and other materials will be provided. If you have a laptop computer, it is recommended (but not required) that you bring it for the funeral presentation work. A printer will be available. Dress is casual.

Glenda Stansbury, MA, CFSP, InSight Institute
Marketing & Development Director of InSight Books, Co-Founder and Dean of InSight Institute Certified Celebrant Program. Glenda has worked as an educator, teacher trainer, and seminar developer. She is also a professor at the University of Central Oklahoma Funeral Department and is a licensed funeral director/embalmer. She is also the recipient of the ICCFA Education Foundation's Lasting Impact Award, and the 2021 Death Care Rock Star of the Year Award from Parting Stone Cremation Rocks Awards.

Cathy Nichols, Busch Funeral & Crematory Services
Celebrant Coordinator for Busch Funeral & Crematory Services, Cleveland Ohio. Cathy taught in New Hampshire, Puerto Rico & Pittsburgh, and as an ESL teacher to Japanese auto executives. She served as the Director of Congregational Care at a large suburban church for 12 years before joining the staff at Busch Funeral Services and is a Celebrant trainer for InSight Institute.
