As you may know the Ohio Individual insurance market is going through historic changes and challenges. To ease the burden of finding insurance that best fits your needs, OFDA will continue to offer a variety of health insurance options as a member benefit in 2017.
OFDA will continue to offer the group health insurance plan offered through United Healthcare. Through the group insurance members may choose from four plan options.
OFDA has also partnered with National United Brokers (NUB) and its affiliate Health Enrollment Management Agency (HEMA) to help guide OFDA members during the Open Enrollment Period which began November 1, 2016.
Members who have already obtained insurance through HEMA will be contacted by a HEMA staff member soon to review the new options for 2017.
Members who did not enroll through HEMA but would like to receive information on the plans available for 2017 should fill out the enclosed Referral Form and return it to OFDA. A staff member from HEMA will then contact you directly to review your options. All proposals are for January 1st effective dates. The last day to enroll for January 1, 2017 is December 15, 2016.
HEMA and NUB also offer group health insurance plan options for employers with two or more employees, as well as a seniors choice group plan for members over age 65 and on Medicare.
