Obituary for James A. Dimel

Father and father-in-law of Michael and Mandee Williams, Owners of R.M. Williams Funeral Service

James A. Dimel, 57, of Wellston, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. He was born on October 29, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Paul A. and Mary M. (Condon) Dimel. Jim was currently employed as the maintenance supervisor at OSCO Industries in Jackson. He attended both LifeSource Apostolic Church in Wellston, and Renovate Life Church of God in McArthur, where his son pastors. Jim was a very skilled mechanic who could fix anything…and if he couldn’t fix it, well, he “Jimmy rigged” it.  Behind his “tough man” façade, he truly had a heart of gold. He would do absolutely anything for just about anyone at any time.  He enjoyed watching his favorite television station, Investigation Discovery, and “Cops.” Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his three grandkids. He will be greatly missed by many.

He is survived by his loving family: wife of 38 years, Lin (Kazee) Dimel; son, James M. “Jimbob” (Kate) Dimel; daughter, Amanda (Michael) Williams; grandchildren: Luke Dimel, Isabella Williams, and Wyatt Dimel; brothers: Paul David (Teresa) Dimel, Louie Dimel, Tom (Eva) Dimel; one sister, Marybeth (Rick) Hogue; brother-in-law, Scott (Rhonda) Kazee; sister-in-law, Lisa Bethel; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Loyal and Freda Kazee.

A funeral service celebrating Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in LifeSource Apostolic Church, 110 Driving Park Road, Wellston, with Pastor Randy Barr officiating. Burial will follow in Hamden Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 West Broadway Street, Wellston, on Friday, January 26, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions in Jim’s name be made to a local foodbank, Compel Ministries of Wellston, or another LOCAL charity of your choice.

We wish to express our sincere thanks to the first responders, paramedics, and emergency room staff for their efforts. While they too, like Jim, put on a “tough guy” image we know that to be in those professions one must also have a “heart of gold.”
