Obituary for Paul F. Hornback

Funeral Director and Owner of Botkin Hornback Funeral Home

Paul F. Hornback, 60, of Piketon, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 17, 2018. He was born September 23, 1957 in Chillicothe, Ohio, son of Frank R. Hornback of Waverly, Ohio and the late Anna Maude Thomas Hornback. On June 25, 1977 Paul was united in marriage to Jo D. Chitwood Hornback who survives. Also surviving are two daughters Aimee Smith and husband Matthew of Piketon and Andrea Leeth and husband Joshua of Waverly; four grandchildren, Zoiee Smith, Xander Leeth, Creed Smith, and Micah Leeth; two sisters Peggy Schaeffer and Marilyn Hornback both of Waverly, and two brothers Edward Hornback and wife Paula of Dexter, Michigan and James Hornback and wife Lisa of Columbus, Ohio, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Paul was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Calvary Baptist Church in Piketon for many years.  He also served the community for over 40 years in Funeral Service, a job he viewed as a calling rather than a career. Paul was also a member of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association.  He was an active member of the Waverly Area Kiwanas, the Piketon Lions Club, the Pike County Chamber of Commerce, and a board member of the Pike County Board of DD.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Jon Black officiating.  Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery in Piketon. Family will receive friends at the Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly from 4-8 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2018.
