Obituary for Frank Peterson

Father of Kenn Peterson, Homesteaders Life Company

Frank Peterson, age 81, of Fairfield died Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.  He was born in Bedford, Ohio on August 30, 1934, the son of A. B. and Martha C. (Hermanson) Peterson.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.  He married Virginia A. Spitler on December 21, 1957 in Canton, Ohio.  Frank had been employed as a social worker for the Cuyahoga County Court, after moving to Fairfield he began working for the Butler County Children’s Home and the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities.  Frank was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and a former member of the Lion’s Club, Kiwanis Club and Rotary.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; his children, Brett (Julie) Peterson, Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, Becky (Scott) Rabinowitz, Nokomis, Florida, Kenn (Susan) Peterson, Delhi, Ohio and Kristy (Dave) Duritsch, Middletown; his sisters, Aina Schuster, Olmsted Falls, Ohio and Irene Kirkham, Mayfield Heights, Ohio and his grandchildren, Hannah (Aaron) Schklar and Eric Peterson, Randi Lynn, Carly and Jacob Rabinowitz, Noah, Matthew and Megan Peterson and Kevin, Ryan and Charlie Duritsch. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Russell Schuster and Brian Kirkham.  

A visitation will be held Friday, April 29, 2016 at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N. W. Washington Blvd. from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, 644 Linn St, Suite 1026, Cincinnati, Ohio 45203-1742.
