Notification of Death - Clarence L. Shumaker

OFDA received word this morning that Clarence L. Shumaker, 86, of Perrysburg died Thursday, May 17, 2007 in St. Anne, Illinois. Mr. Shumaker was the Grandfather of Mark A. Merz, Northwest Regional Director for the Ohio Funeral Directors Association and Licensed Funeral Director for Witzler-Shank and Neville Funeral Homes and Edwin "Mick" Merz, Licensed Funeral Director for Witzler-Shank Funeral Homes.

He is survived by his loving companion of 28 years Phyllis Rich, of St. Anne, Illinois, and daughter: Sandra (Harold) Vroman; grandsons: Mick (Bethany) Merz, and Mark Merz; sister: Mary Shumaker. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia on August 27, 1976 as well as his sister Elizabeth "Betty" Gordon.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, May 21, 2007 from 2-8 PM in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Walbridge 43465 (419-666-3121) where funeral services will be Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 1 PM. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Cancer Society's Toth Elementary School Relay for Life Team.
