Notification of Death - George W. Heller

February 11, 2007

OFDA received word this morning that George W. Heller, 84, of Huber Heights died Sunday, February 11, at Hearth & Home of Vandalia.

George was the retired co-owner of Marker & Heller Funeral Homes in Dayton and Huber Heights. He was a funeral director for over 50 years in the family funeral homes. A graduate of CCMS, George served as Past President of the Greater Montgomery County Funeral Directors Association as well as a member of OFDA and NFDA.

Dedicated to his community, George served as Past President of DaleView Kiwanis Club, a Mason for over 50 years, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, The Antioch Shrine, The Antioch Temple Greeters and the Royal Order of the Jesters.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Roberta Marker Heller; a son and daughter-in-law, OFDA Past President Gary and Susan Heller and their children Stephanie and Matthew all of Vandalia; and daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Todd Marsh and children Michael, Scott and Donavan of West Carrollton.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2007 at the Marker & Heller Funeral Home, Huber Heights Chapel, 5844 Old Troy Pike The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2007.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Heartland Hospice.
