Martha M. Van Horn

OFDA received word this morning that Martha M. Van Horn, age 88, died Friday, August 4, 2006 in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Mrs. Van Horn was the wife of OFDA Past President, Myron L. Van Horn (Died October 4, 2000). She graduated from Washington University in 1940 with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and was Supervisor of Surgery at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri following her graduation until coming to Ohio in 1946. She and her husband owned & operated Van Horn Funeral Homes in Lakeview & Jackson Center for many years.

She is survived by sons, M. Lee (Kay) Van Horn and Mark S. (Pat) Van Horn; eight grandchildren, Courtney (Todd) Lones, Lori (Sean) Newman, Shauna (Paul) Van Horn-Rogan, Whitney Van Horn, Kyle Van Horn, Blair Van Horn, Carl (Barb) Ecclestone, Kendra (Brian) Fedderman and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Van Horn was preceded in death by two grandsons, Zachary and Steven.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 12, 2006 from 11:00 AM 1:00 PM at Indian Lake Community Church, Russells Point, Ohio. Services will also be held at Indian Lake Community Church, Russells Point, Ohio on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at 1:00 PM
Interment will follow at 3:00 PM in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, Ohio.

Memorials may be sent to Mary Rutan Hospital Building Fund.
