Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory in Mansfield, OH is seeking candidates for a full-time Funeral Director and Embalmer positions. Wappner Funeral Directors was established in 1872 in Mansfield, Ohio. It is a family owned business doing 600 plus calls with 4 locations: three in Richland County and one in Ashland County. Mansfield is a medium size city located a little over an hour away from both Cleveland and Columbus, an hour and a half drive to Lake Erie, Put-In-Bay and Cedar Point.
Job Requirements: • Must possess education and license requirement for a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for the State of Ohio. A reciprocate license from another state is also acceptable. • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record. • Must be able to lift and carry up to 150 pounds and push/pull up to 250 pounds. • Must be detailed oriented. • Excellent organization skills. • Ability to multi-task within job responsibilities. • Ability to meet deadlines • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with families during times of need and create and maintain a premier level of client family satisfaction, care and compassion. • Proficient with computers and technology with knowledge of MS Office Tools. • Ability to manage caseloads while creating an exceptional customer experience. Ability to be able to handle multiple families at one time. • Must be able to work closely with all staff and be a contributing and effective team player. • Understand and implement company provided training. • Must comply with company policies, procedures and safety measures. • Knowledge of crematory and cremation regulations or willing to be trained. • Required to take and pass a drug test and background check prior to employment.
Job Summary and Responsibilities: • Meet with client families to make funeral arrangements, present and explain service options, and assist with all aspects of coordinating plans for traditional funeral service, cremation services and memorial services. • Personalize and create services as unique as each family that we serve. • Be knowledgeable of all programs, services and amenities offered by our funeral home. • Perform technical and cosmetological embalming services and maintain cleanliness of care center and equipment. • Direct funeral services, visitations, memorial ceremonies in a proficient, organized and caring manner, and assist with services while not acting as the primary director. • Maintain and demonstrate a high standard of professionalism at all times. • Make transfers from place of death to our care center. • Assist with setting up room for services and re-setting for visitations. • Assist with displaying of flower deliveries. • On-call rotation for night calls. • Perform all other related functions as assigned.
