With our continued commitment to the community, we are currently seeking a professionally motivated Funeral Director, or possible Funeral Director Intern, for a full time career position. As a part of our team, you will be involved in all aspects of funeral service which includes interacting directly with our Client Families. The Funeral Director position is also responsible for building the relationship and delivering the service and experience that captures, acknowledges and shares the life purpose of the clients loved ones. This includes making all arrangements, handling all aspects of the service and ensuring that each family receives a flawless and meaningful experience. We are looking for a long-term fit with people who possess a demonstrated ability of working as a team member and achieving positive results. Attitude and commitment are more important to us than the number of years worked in the industry. Our family owned and operated Funeral Home (since 1905) consists of one facility with an onsite crematory, serving approximately 250 families each year and is located in beautiful downtown Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Key Responsibilities: • Meet with client families to arrange appropriate, personalized and meaningful services • Ensure proper paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner – in accordance with relevant laws and regulations • Coordinate and direct funeral services regularly • Present every client family with all service and merchandise options • Work on-call/first call, in rotation with other team members • Direct team members participating in services, ensuring that each member of the team understands their individual role and is professionally representing the company • Provide appropriate care and preparation for deceased • Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Successful completion of the National Board exam • Current Ohio Funeral Director Licensee OR ability to get licensed in 90 days OR Bachelor’s Degree with willingness to serve a 2 year apprenticeship at our funeral home under a licensed Funeral Director • Clean Driving Record • Physically capable of lifting, pushing and pulling Personal & Professional Attributes of a Successful Candidate: • Team Player • Integrity • Collaborative • Excellent Communication Skills (verbal & written) • Detail Oriented • Ability to Problem Solve • Capable of scheduling time wisely and working independently Required Experience / Education / Licenses / Certifications: • Ohio Funeral Director License OR Bachelor’s degree with willingness to serve a 2 year apprenticeship at our funeral home under a licensed Funeral Director • Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year experience.
